Holiday Sweets -- And a Sad Note

LATE fall, into the holiday season (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa), you may still hear the rustle of leaves out there around the trees on lawns and in parks. It is a time to be thankful, and also a time to stuff yourself with candy and other sweets. But what are the healthiest sweets? Click on my blog tab (at top of the page for the latest blog of interesting, informative stuff) from a confirmed chocaholic!

                 MONKEE MICHAEL NESMITH HAS PASSED

On a sad note, Monkee musician, actor, writer, producer Michael Nesmith has just passed away. He had had heart bypass surgery three years ago. But he was only 78.

Even so, you would expect a longer life than that for this very creative person. He was part of the “TV band” the Monkees but went on to tour with them and then do “his own thing” for many years. And he would also go on to produce music and help create the first MUSIC VIDEOS  .

I actually wrote about his mother, Bette Nesmith Graham, who actually invented “Liquid Paper,” the friend to secretaries and anyone wanting to white out and correct something they have written. Her chapter is in “Great American Women in Science and Environment.”   YOU  CAN “GOOGLE” MY BOOK’S REVIEW AT :www.booklife.com or  click on the full review below:

ABOUT ME

    D. J. Mathews is a freelance writer, author or coauthor of 3 books, working on a 4th, a blogger, product reviewer, newsletter writer. Here to provide informative and fun info (even a bit on writing, something I taught for several years, and am also a Master naturalist member).

Welcome To Great American Idea

Extensively, I will provide ideas and examples on managing money better, paying for an education, dealing with doctors, good ideas or deals when it comes to travel. There is also the science element, as it relates to my book “Great American Women in Science and Environment.” Science and the future can be both a good thing or bad depending on your consumer choices and outlook. And writers can always use tips on how and where to make money. I will do regular blogs on these issues.
